1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information SnapTask collects from users, how that information is used and managed, and the rights available to users. Please read this policy before using the service. By using the service, you are deemed to have agreed to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

The service collects the following information.

2.1 Account Information

  • Email address, display name, and unique authentication provider identifiers provided by the authentication method selected by the user, such as Apple, Google, or email and password
  • This information is managed by Firebase Authentication, provided by Google LLC

2.2 Content Registered by Users

  • Titles and notes for todos and tasks, importance, urgency, due date and time, notification settings, recurrence settings, pinned status, and completion status
  • Images attached by users on paid plans
  • This information is stored in Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage for Firebase

2.3 Device Information

  • OS version and app version
  • Notification permission status, referenced only on the device

2.4 Billing Information

  • Subscription status, purchase history, and store identifiers obtained from the App Store or Google Play through RevenueCat, provided by RevenueCat, Inc.
  • The service does not collect raw payment information such as credit card numbers. Payment processing is handled by each store and payment provider

2.5 Information From Connected Services

  • If a user authorizes Google Calendar integration, the service obtains the selected calendar list and the permissions required to write events through Google Account OAuth authorization

2.6 Information We Do Not Collect

  • Contacts, the full photo library, location information, IDFA, GAID, or similar advertising identifiers
  • Behavioral analytics information collected through cookies or similar technologies
  • When voice input is used, audio data is processed by the speech recognition feature provided by the user’s device OS and is not sent to the service’s servers

3. Purposes of Use

Collected information is used only for the following purposes.

  • Providing the service, authenticating users, syncing data across devices, and delivering notifications
  • Confirming subscription purchase status and providing paid features
  • Exporting task information to calendars when authorized by the user
  • Investigating and responding to issues and user inquiries
  • Preventing violations of the Terms of Service and unauthorized use

If the purposes of use change, the updated purposes will be published in this policy.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

The service does not provide collected personal data to third parties without the user’s consent, except in the following cases.

  • When required by law
  • When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and obtaining the user’s consent is difficult
  • When necessary to investigate violations of the Terms of Service or unauthorized use

5. Service Providers

To provide the service, personal data is entrusted to the following providers. Each provider handles information only to the extent necessary to provide the service and protects it according to its own privacy policy.

  • Google LLC (United States) — Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage for Firebase, and Google Cloud for authentication, data storage, image storage, and server infrastructure
  • RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) — subscription status management
  • Apple Inc. (United States) — iOS billing processing and Sign in with Apple
  • Google LLC (United States) — Google Play billing processing, Google sign-in, and Google Calendar integration

6. Data Storage Location and International Transfers

Service data is stored on servers operated by the providers listed above in the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. By using the service, users consent to storage and processing on servers outside Japan.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Todos, tasks, and images registered by users are retained until users delete them
  • When a user deletes their account in the app, registered data, including todos, tasks, images, and authentication information, will be deleted as promptly as technically possible
  • Some data may remain in backup systems for a short period, but it will not be used for any purpose other than restoration
  • Subscription purchase history is retained by each store, such as Apple or Google, for the period required by store policies and applicable tax laws

8. Notifications

All notifications from the service are delivered as local notifications on the user’s device. Notification content, such as task names, is not sent to external servers for push delivery by the service.

9. Cookies and Analytics Tools

The mobile app does not use cookies. Analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics are not installed.

The website also does not currently use cookies or analytics tools. If these are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and prior notice will be provided.

10. Children’s Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13 years old, or under 16 in some regions. The service does not knowingly collect personal information from users in these age groups. If such information is found to have been collected, it will be deleted promptly.

11. User Rights

Users may request the following actions regarding their personal data held by us.

  • Disclosure, correction, addition, and deletion
  • Suspension of use and suspension of third-party disclosure
  • Notification of purposes of use

Users in the EU and United Kingdom may exercise rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and users in California may exercise rights under the CCPA or CPRA. The request method is the same.

12. Security

The service uses Firebase Security Rules to restrict access so users can read and write only their own data. All communication with servers is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS).

13. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised in response to changes in laws, service content, or other circumstances. Important changes will be announced through the service. The revised policy takes effect when posted on this page.
